Printed on record covers in the 1970s, “El Disco Es Cultura” (the record is culture) was a campaign to raise awareness of music as a cultural export in Latinoamérica. By some accounts, it began in Argentina as an appeal to legislators to consider recorded music as a cultural export that should be exempt from tariffs.

Today it represents both a golden era music production in Latinoamérica and a continued cultural expression.
